Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) attaches high importance to dialog with society and to the presentation and discussion of innovative ideas and projects. It is our major goal to communicate pioneer developments by our University of Excellence, but also by other institutions worldwide, to both a scientific expert audience and citizens interested in science and cultural work.

The KIT Science Week combines a scientific conference of high-ranking researchers with dialog formats for intensive exchange with citizens. Public science events for critical discourse are organized in cooperation with the city and actors from the technology region. Dialog with society also characterized the first KIT Science Week with a variety of events in October 2021. It focused on artificial intelligence as a key issue of the future: “Der Mensch im Zentrum Lernender Systeme” (The Human Being in the Center of Learning Systems).

In 2023, the next KIT Science Week will take place from October 10 to 15. It will focus on sustainability and climate protection.
